For some time now Rachel Bishop has been working on the largest solo collection ever produced by a Moorcroft designer. The result is 'A New Forest Collection', a selection of widely varied designs in both colour, subject matter and style. Each of the fifteen pieces comprised in the collection represents a year of unbroken design service given since 1993 by its senior designer to Moorcroft. "Every design in my latest collection is named after places scattered throughout the New Forest, I can see all of them as if yesterday was today. I grew up in this historic and beautiful area, and happily for me, my mother and father still live there. Over the years, the New Forest has provided me with a continual stream of inspiration. Throughout my childhood, I would go walking and literally absorb images and emotions wherever I went. Sometimes those images evolved into a design and, perhaps more rarely, others were destined to re-emerge years later to challenge me for a second time."

2007 Moorcroft Celebrating Ten Years of the Moorcroft Design Studio In 1997, at the time it celebrated its centenary, Moorcroft had only enjoyed the service of four designers over a period of a hundred years. It was an incredible record, but in 1997, all that changed. In April that year, the last of the four designers assumed leadership of a Moorcroft design studio. Ten years later, the Design Studio has six designers with Rachel Bishop still at the helm. The first ten years of the Moorcroft Design Studio have been eventful years with some incredible designs to look back on with pride.
To celebrate the occasion, the Moorcroft Design Studio has produced a twelve piece collection with designs from each member of the Design Studio. Each piece will carry a special ‘Ten Years of the Moorcroft Design Studio’ back stamp and in the case of the numbered editions, with the exception of Red Kites, the designers’ signature in addition. ‘Impressions of a Decade’ reflects a great deal of hard work from a dedicated team of people who between them have helped introduce a decade of colour into the world.
