"As you walk through the New Forest, you can come across names that have been around for maybe a thousand years - Whitemoor, Puddlesbridge, Brockenhurst, Knitewood, Oak and Queens Meadow.  For me, the whole forest is a Queens Meadow.  On the one hand there are tree-filled enclosures, while on the other are open areas of heathland with their own secret places, so easily overlooked  This is where wild violets grow, untouched and seldom seen, like colourful jewels in the wild.  Some are protected by dark woodland; others lie scattered among the vast, open plains of New Forest heather, tilting their heads towards the sun."
