Ober Water
designed by by Rachel Bishop

"Deep in the heart of the New Forest close by an area called Ober Shade, there is a gravel stream gliding silently on its journey to the sea.  Called Ober Water, the stream originates in the wetlands around Burley, before winding its silent path through ancient oak woods and on towards Lymington River.  There was a time when I studied Art and Design nearby, during which I learned that Ober Water can be a dark place, full of bog murtle and mysterious shade, but it is an area through which I enjoyed walking in my free time.  The design itself is a personal milestone, with my very first fish breaking the still, dark depths of Ober Water as well as breaking the traditions of a lifetime!  Reflecting the Ober Water habitat itself, the design is in monochrome, something I decided on to stylise the form of the fish whilst accentuating the detail in their scales and bubbles of air."
