Using tiny amounts of colour Nigel has gradually built up the intricate detail of the Owls’ plumage and the haunting beauty of the landscape.  Each layer of colour involves a firing in a hot kiln to transform the pigment and to fix it permanently with the enamelled glazed surface.  It’s detailed, painstaking work but the result is breathtaking and, for three connoisseurs, Barn Owls will become a magnificent and much admired addition to a collection.
