and using a totally new shape, Nigel’s breathtaking panoramic scene of colourful
rosella parrots luxuriating in their forest home is outstanding.
Rosellas are native to Australia and Nigel has chosen three of the many species
for his masterly painting – Crimson and Eastern Rosellas inside the vase with
Eastern and Western Rosellas to the outside. Study the enamel and Nigel’s
virtuoso skill becomes clear; every detail of the birds’ exotic plumage is
superbly observed and from every angle, even under the base, the rosellas twist
and turn complementing the contours of the vase.
